The new sneaker everyone Is talking about

SHOES: Nike (also love the GRAY and OLIVE versions)  |  TRENCH COAT: Elizabeth and James  |  SWEATSHIRT: Frame  |  SKIRT: Alice and Olivia  |  BAG: Philip Lim 3.1 (old, love THIS navy option)  |  SUNGLASSES: Old, similar HERE  |  EARRINGS: Argentovivo  |  LIPS: Stila (Fiery)

For me, beauty is most often found in contrasts.  The combination of black and white.  The soft, slow notes of a song before a dramatic, loud crescendo.  The sugar high I’m experiencing right now because I (accidentally?) just finished an entire pint of Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food ice cream coupled with the despair of feeling my favorite jeans tighten around my mid-section.

(K that one wasn’t beautiful, just very concerning.)

A flower springing up in the crack of a sidewalk.  The softness of brie with the crunch of a cracker.  You get the gist.  Opposites attract and contrasts are beautiful (aforementioned Ben & Jerry’s situation excluded).

The contrast of a feminine midi skirt and bold red lip against the strong athletic silhouette of a running shoe and hooded sweatshirt has the same effect for me.  The stark contradictions are what I like best about this look, and it also happens to be what I like best about Nike’s latest and greatest react running shoe.  It’s the lightest, sleekest runner I’ve come across while packing an incredible performance punch.

Full disclosure:  I’ve been on the hunt for a new running shoe for weeks but after receiving these beauties in person, I couldn’t bear to waste them on the gym.  now I understand why everyone seems to be hoarding these shoes.  The design is so sleek and the monochromatic off-white hue is such a chic statement.  Whether you’re looking for a top-notch new running shoe or an ultra-chic sneaker for nailing the pervasive athleisure trend, you’ll get the best of both worlds with this pair.

I’m thinking about keeping this ivory pair for wearing outside the gym and ordering another color for working out.  maybe the black?  Or the pink?!  So many good colors.

As an avid runner, I love the bootie-style flyknit construction where the tongue is seamlessly part of the upper, but the new “React” foam cushioning is what really wowed me.  They’re insanely lightweight and soft yet incredibly responsive.  As they say, it’s like wearing a pillow, strapped to a spring, tied to a rocket, shot from a cannon.  hard to define.  easy to love.
